About The Ultimate Game at the PGA West Stadium® Course
HISTORY
The genesis of The Ultimate Game was a two-man, match play competition named
"The Big Stakes Match Play Golf Tournament" held at the Casa Blanca Resort and
Casino in Mesquite, Nevada. The Tournament, in which two-person teams paid $100,000
per team, was shown on The Golf Channel with a winner’s prize of $1,500,000 per
winning team member. The 2005 Big Stakes Match Play Champions were David Ping & Garth Mulroy.
That predecessor tournament led to a singles tournament in 2007, named The Ultimate Game at
Wynn Las Vegas, in which Scott Piercy won $2,000,000 in a combination of match play and stroke
play. The entry fee for the 2007 event was $50,000 per player.
After the 2007 event, we received a great deal of input from the players and their
sponsors as well as from potential players and sponsors who did not enter the 2007 event.
The overwhelming majority of those who gave us their input wanted our next tournament to: (a)
have a lower entry fee per player; (b) be a two-person team event; and (c) be played entirely
at match play, and (d) allow the players to win their entry fees back by winning only two matches.
We have decided to give our players sponsors what they want.
The Ultimate Game at the PGA West Stadium Course is a tournament in which 64 two-man teams
compete in match play format. The entry fee is $25,000 per player ($50,000 per team) until Feb. 28,
and $30,000 per player ($60,000 per team) after
Feb. 28. The Ultimate Game at the PGA West Stadium Course is open to all players, amateur or professional,
men or women, of any age except:
| a. Players who have had fully-exempt status on the PGA Tour, the Nationwide Tour,
the Champions Tour, the European Tour, the European Challenge Tour, the Japan Tour,
