Event Format
Pairings and Tee Times: Determined by Blind Draw the Evening Before Each Day of
Competition
Competition Schedule and Format: There will be five days of competition
in a Championship Bracket and a Consolation Bracket as follows:
DAY ONE (Wednesday, April 30)
Championship Bracket:
The 64 teams play 32 four-ball matches; the 32 winning teams continue in the Championship Bracket on Day Two; the 32 losing teams go to the Consolation Bracket for Day Two.
DAY TWO (Thursday, May 1)
Championship Bracket:
The 32 winning teams from Day One play each other in 16 matches; the 16 winning teams win $50,000 and continue in the Championship Bracket on Day Three; the 16 losing teams go to the Consolation Bracket for Day Three.
Consolation Bracket:
The 32 losing teams from Day One play each other in 16 matches; the 16 winning teams continue in the Consolation Bracket on Day Three; the 16 losing teams, having lost two matches, are eliminated from The Ultimate Game.
DAY THREE (Friday, May 2)
Championship Bracket
The 16 winning teams from Day Two play 8 matches; the 8 winning teams win an additional $25,000 (for a total of $75,000 won) and continue in the Championship Bracket for Day Four; the 8 losing teams, having won $50,000 are eliminated from The Ultimate Game
Consolation Bracket Morning Matches
The 16 losing teams from Day Two in the Championship Bracket play the 16 winning teams from Day Two in the Consolation Bracket (16 matches); the 16 winning teams continue in the Consolation Bracket for Day Three; the 16 losing teams, having lost two matches are eliminated from The Ultimate Game.
Consolation Bracket Afternoon Matches
The 16 winning teams from Day Three morning matches play each other in 8 Matches; the 8 winning teams win $25,000 and continue in the Consolation Bracket for Day Four; the 8 losing teams, having lost twice, are eliminated from The Ultimate Game.
DAY FOUR (Saturday, May 3)
Championship Bracket Morning Matches
The 8 winning teams from Day Three play each other in 4 matches; the 4 winning teams win an additional $25,000 (for a total of $100,000 won) and continue in the Championship Bracket in Day Four semi-final matches on The Golf Channel in prime time; the four losing teams, having won $75,000, are eliminated from The Ultimate Game.
Championship Bracket Afternoon Matches
The 4 winning teams from Day Four play each other in 2 matches; the 2 winning teams win an additional $25,000 (for a total of $125,000 won) and continue in the Championship Bracket for the Day Five final match on The Golf Channel in prime time; the two losing teams, having won $100,000, are eliminated from The Ultimate Game.
Consolation Bracket Morning Matches
The 8 winning teams from Day Three play each other in 4 matches; the 4 winning teams win an additional $25,000 (for a total of $50,000 won) and continue in the Consolation Bracket for the Day Four semi-final matches; the four losing teams, having won $25,000 and lost twice, are eliminated from The Ultimate Game.
Consolation Bracket Afternoon Matches
The 4 winning teams from Day Four play each other in 2 matches; the 2 winning teams win an additional $25000 (for a total of $75,000 won) and continue in the Consolation Bracket for the Day Five final match; the two losing teams, having won $50,000 and lost twice, are eliminated from The Ultimate Game.
DAY FIVE (Sunday, May 4)
Championship Bracket
The two winning teams from Day Four play each other in the final match on The Golf Channel in prime time; the winning team wins an additional $875,000 (for a total of $1,000,000 won) and is the 2008 TUG Champion; the losing team, having won $125,000, is the 2008 TUG Runner-Up.
Consolation Bracket
The two winning teams from Day Four play each other in one match; the winning team wins an additional $25,000 (for a total of $100,000 won) and is the 2008 TUG Consolation Bracket Winner; the losing team, having won $75,000 and lost twice, is the 2008 Consolation Bracket Runner-Up.
